Born and raised in Amsterdam, Mike Dijkstra has been fishing his home waters for more than thirty years. Mike is an all-round angler who has been specialising in fly and lure fishing. Mike holds the quality mark fishing guide given by the fishing club of Amsterdam, a guarantee of quality and responsibility towards fish and fishermen. Mike is a St Croix pro-staff member. He is also a VNV-certified fly casting instructor.
Mike doesn’t only fish with Dutch clients, he also organises fishing days and travels in this and other countries. During these events friendship, a good time and the best fishing are important. All Mike’s fishing trips with clients are custom made.
Home base: Amsterdam
Location: Noordzeekanaal, the Nieuwe Meer, the Vecht, Ankeveense Plassen and many other spots. During the summer Mike fishes on saltwater for bass and mackerel. He also arranges international fishing trips to Denmark, Montana (US) and British Columbia (Canada).
Boat: Fully equipped Lund 1890 ProV (115 hp) and Lund 1700 Pro-angler (max. three and two persons).
Techniques: All regular techniques for pike and zander, like jerking, trolling, vertical jigging, dropshotting and float fishing with natural baits. Also fly fishing for pike and zander.
Tackle: Top quality rods (St Croix), spinning and casting reels and lures onboard for clients to use.
